The focus of the conversation will revolve around the sound works presented across the week at the ICA and will range across notions of cognitive opacity/translucency, and the concept of ‘listening without a listener’, to the problematics of an ‘Islamic sonic-social’ and practices of not knowing.  Read more

Constituting Institutions at The PUBLIC SCHOOL New York

The current ‘crisis of education’ forces us to reassess the question of what we want our educational institutions to do for us, and how we can/should act to produce these institutional realities; addressing the fact that collectively organising (self-) education today necessarily means constituting new institutions and reconstituting existing ones. In turn, this holds the hope of producing a more vital (polyphonic) institutional ‘landscape’ in the ongoing education of practicing artists.  Read more

The Lunar Society were a group of eighteenth century thinkers who met to discuss the topics of their age including exploration, collecting and the possibility of progress. The first of two LUNÄ Table Discussions is hosted by members of trans-disciplinary art project, Vision Forum London. Influenced by theories of time, their research proceeds via unconventional methods that foreground direct experience and exploration.  Read more
