Associate Artist, 2013-14 Open School East (OSE) was both a residency and self-directed learning programme for 12 associate artists. It was also a communal space re-opening a former community centre in De Beauvoir Town, East London. Emphasising cooperation and experimentation, the initiative was set up to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and skills between artists, local residents and neighbourhood organisations. OSE 2013-14 associate artists were selected by Anna Colin, Sarah McCrory, Laurence Taylor and Sam Thorne. The project was supported by the Barbican, Create London and Outset.
